PSE’s Business Energy Management Department is looking for an Energy Management Engineer to focus on operation and behavior-based efficiency project delivery in our Building Performance Team. This position will be tasked with projects that include portfolio customers with facilities representing a wide-variety of end-uses including commercial, industrial and/or institutional and which may have substantial technical complexity and/or processes.

Specific duties include managing all phases of custom-grant projects with customers participating in the Resource Conservation Manager (RCM) Program. Your projects follow this path: meet with customers to market and explain BEM programs, screen applications to determine customer eligibility, develop grant documents, work with customer to identify accounts and meters and facility baselines, help customer complete program deliverables, provide on-site technical support as needed, complete an annual analysis of energy savings across all facilities in the customer's portfolio and complete paperwork to authorize payment of grant.

We want you to work closely with customers to develop programs that produce sustained energy savings. This may include specific activities such as evaluating billing and meter data, assisting with energy audits, implementing sub-metering and trend-logging, recommending measures for improving energy efficiency of equipment either through operations, maintenance or replacement, helping customers to engage and train staff, and working with customers to evaluate resulting changes to electrical and gas loads. You will also work to support the team as a whole in developing and delivering training programs for customers, and contributing to the on-going development of program support materials including templates, spreadsheet calculators, and reference documents.

The ideal candidate will have several years experience with HVAC systems in various building types (design, commissioning, operating) combined with high-level program management experience. You will have an ability to understand the proper operation of complex building systems, to communicate with all levels of a customers' organization, and to effectively transfer skills and knowledge to others. You will provide exceptional customer service by managing expectations by clearly communicating status and next steps. You will implement projects and programs while ensuring compliance of all tariffs and financial procedures, and develop new and revised department policy proposals to increase effectiveness of programs and services. You will successfully and professionally market our energy efficiency programs to eligible customers and various organizations within the commercial and industrial sector, while maintaining productive contractor relationships to ensure repeated successful project development and follow-through. You will be looked upon to provide technical expertise to others within the Company and externally.

Qualifications:

Required:
• BA/BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of energy management project experience OR;
• Formal energy management training with 7 years of energy management project experience.
• Demonstrated project and/or program management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Desired:
• Professional Engineer license in Mechanical Engineering
• Energy auditing and project development experience
• Experience with energy accounting software, interval data and sub-metering strategies
• Commissioning experience
• Experience with whole-building energy analysis or energy modeling
• Experience in aspects of program development, including understanding both internal and external processes necessary to market, sell, deliver, verify and track program activity.
• Customer service experience
• Utility industry experience

This position will be filled as Senior Energy Management Engineer, Energy Management Engineer or Associate Energy Management Engineer depending on the qualifications of the candidate.
