Northwest SEED, a nonprofit organization that empowers community scale clean energy, is in search of a Project Coordinator that will assist with local clean energy program implementation. The Project Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include educating communities and clients about renewable energy project potential in the Northwest. Applicants must be proactive, resourceful, and possess exceptional communication skills.

This position is based in Seattle, WA, reports to the Executive Director, and works closely with the Program Director and program staff. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

-Provide education and outreach to community members interested in solar energy and energy efficiency through public workshops, publications and speaking engagements.
-Work with municipalities, state government, utilities and community members to implement community-based clean energy projects.
-Recruit, educate and engage volunteers and program participants to support Northwest SEED programs.
-Actively manage regular communications with program participants and maintain participant database using Salesforce.
-Administer project work plans, budget, schedule, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
-Represent Northwest SEED at community meetings, volunteer meetings and outreach events.
-Coordinate overall marketing and outreach related to assigned projects, including website and social media updates and the creation of external marketing materials.
-Document project activities and submit monthly and/or quarterly reports to project funders and sponsors. Assist with preparing and reviewing monthly project expenses and invoicing.
-Participate in developing organizational goals and strategic plans.
-Assist with the implementation of other clean energy projects and initiatives as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in community organizing and outreach, coordination of community-based projects, and have a passion for clean energy. This position requires frequent travel around the Puget Sound region, including weekends and weeknights.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
-Demonstrated project coordination and/or community outreach experience. Experience working with local governments, utilities and/or neighborhood groups a plus.
-Highly organized with proven organizational and public speaking skills.
-Volunteer recruitment and management skills.
-Must be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and capable of meeting challenges and deadlines.
-Superior written and verbal communication skills.
-Proficiency in MS Office, with a high level of skill using Excel, and Adobe software products (InDesign, Acrobat). Experience with Salesforce, Plone, and WordPress a plus.
-Valid Washington State driver’s license required.
-Strong commitment to energy and sustainability issues. Understanding of clean energy technologies and their applications a plus.
-Team player with trouble-shooting and exceptional multi-tasking skills.
-Experience working within a non-profit team environment and/or a consulting/fee-for-service environment a plus.

This position is full time, based out of our Seattle office. Competitive salary starting at $45K-50K, commensurate with experience. Generous benefits including health, dental, paid leave, retirement plan, professional development allowance and public transit subsidy.
