Northwest SEED, a non-profit organization that empowers community scale clean energy through technical support, community education and practical implementation, is in search of a Project Coordinator to lead our Solarize Washington program. This innovative program combines community
organizing and a group purchase model to encourage the widespread adoption of solar energy. To date, Northwest SEED has implemented 7 Solarize campaigns, achieving more than 2 megawatts of solar energy capacity and enabling hundreds of residents to power their homes and businesses with clean energy. With support from seasoned staff, the Project Coordinator will lead all aspects of the Solarize Washington program, including community outreach, volunteer recruitment, educational workshops, contractor selection process, marketing, and reporting to external stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will gain exposure to other programs by providing direct project support to Northwest
SEED staff. For the right candidate, this position offers opportunities for increased responsibility and professional growth.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead Solarize Washington neighborhood-based group purchase campaigns, including external coordination with community volunteers, solar installers, electric utilities and program participants to ensure project deliverables are met within budget and on time.
- Coordinate all project communications, team meetings, budget and reporting to internal and external stakeholders and funders.
- Recruit, educate and engage volunteers and program participants on solar energy and the Solarize Washington program.
- Manage regular communications with project participants and maintain the participant database using Salesforce.
- Plan and help conduct Solarize Washington workshops.
- Coordinate overall marketing and outreach, including updating the project website, creating public-facing marketing materials, and coordinating media opportunities to promote the Solarize Washington program.
- Coordinate and attend community meetings, volunteer meetings and outreach events.
- Track project goals and participant levels; document lessons learned and make recommendations for improvements.
- Support internal fund development for projects as needed.
- Assist with the implementation of other clean energy projects and initiatives as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in community organizing and outreach, coordination of community-based projects, and have a passion for clean energy. This position requires frequent travel around the Puget Sound region on weekends and weeknights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated project coordination and/or community organizing experience. Experience working with local governments, utilities and/or neighborhood groups a plus.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Volunteer recruitment and management skills.
- Excellent multi-tasking, troubleshooting, and follow-through skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and capable of meeting challenges and deadlines.
- Proven interpersonal skills working within a team environment.
- Strong commitment to energy and sustainability issues. Understanding of renewable energy technologies and their applications a plus.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite. Experience using Salesforce, InDesign, and/or Plone a plus.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license
