ORCA Passport Sales Coordinator

Program Manager

Full time, Non-Exempt
Time-limited position; funding for this position has been secured though December 31, 2015.

Commute Seattle is a non-profit commuter service organization working to reduce drive-alone commute trips in an effort to improve access to and mobility through Downtown Seattle. An alliance of the Downtown Seattle Association, King County Metro and the City of Seattle, Commute Seattle helps commuters find an alternative to driving alone by providing downtown commuters, employers and property managers with information about a variety of commute options in one convenient location.

This position will be responsible for driving and satisfying demand for employer-subsidized Metro ORCA Business Passport product for Downtown Seattle businesses. Through a consultative sales approach using business-case scenarios, this person will guide businesses to make value-driven investments in transit passes for their employees.

This position will work collaboratively with a variety of organizational partners to develop and implement sales, communication, marketing, and channel strategies to increase ORCA Passport market share in Downtown. Sales strategies and marketing campaigns are likely to include business networking, presentations, appointment setting, personal sales, referral programs and direct mail. This individual will own the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract commitment, and will support post-sale value by providing on-going product education to business clients.

• Plan and implement effective lead generation strategies for developing qualified business prospects for transit pass contract commitments.
• Utilize the consultative sales process and ROI business case to recommend the appropriate transit solution to the prospective business.
• Develop and implement effective relationship, partnership, and/or channel strategies to drive marketing and Passport contract commitment goals.
• Work collaboratively and creatively with partner organization that include King County Metro, City of Seattle, Downtown Seattle Association and the MID, as well as optimizing relationship with other business association which could include BOMA, and the downtown neighborhood business associations.
• Identify and optimize opportunities to penetrate reliable and/or emerging business segments.
• Develop effective Passport business value messaging and/or end user support messaging, and provide presentations or to small groups.
• Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets established with program manager.
• Lead forecasting and market planning as it relates to ORCA Passport market share growth.
• Manage marketing budget and process for ORCA Passport promotional campaigns.
• Perform necessary administration and client relationship management functions such as recordkeeping, program measurement, effective reporting, correspondence, and protocol development.

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3 years business-to-business sales experience required
• Effective use of sales approaches that include consultative, ROI, and triple bottom line methodologies preferred
• Professional, polished, confident, and factual; gregarious, outgoing, and honest
• Demonstrated interest in the field of alternative transportation
• Demonstrated transit use experience and knowledge strongly preferred
• Previous experience implementing transportation demand management (TDM) strategies preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop and give effective presentations to small or large groups
• Demonstrated success meeting monthly, quarterly and annual targets
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong sense of responsibility.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations to large groups.
• Strong organizational skills, and the ability and willingness to handle multiple projects, demands and moving targets are a must.
• Knowledge of MS Word and Outlook required. Excel and Access experience desired.
