The Forest Trust (TFT) is a global non-profit membership organization with offices in 15 countries and more than 130 employees that works with companies and communities to transform supply chains and deliver products that respect the environment and improve people’s lives. Our members are international retailers and manufacturers committed to sourcing responsibly, such as Nestlé, Crate & Barrel, and Delhaize Group.

Since 1999, TFT has focused on providing solutions to deforestation and promoting the empowerment of forest dependent communities through market-based strategies. We work on-the-ground in forests, farms and factories worldwide, helping companies and stakeholders to map supply chains back to raw material sources, identify social and environmental risks, and implement best environmental and social practices. We are also active at key stages of supply chains, providing technical, traceability, policy, and communications support.

Our Seattle office currently has a staff of four, and we are looking for an experienced, proactive and dependable person to join our team in an office administration and support role.

Office Administrator

Tasks and responsibilities:

The Office Administrator will be part of our North America team, contributing to our work with supply chains in North America and elsewhere.

Key tasks include:
• Preparation of monthly budget reports on spending and funds requests;
• Monitoring of spending against client budgets;
• Support the administration of payroll and staff reimbursements;
• Organization of travel itineraries and booking;
• Office maintenance including keeping supplies stocked, office clean and welcoming, fixing problems with office equipment, etc.;
• Scanning, filing and other basic organizing;
• Using Microsoft Excel to clean and data entry for supply-chain analysis;
• Other key functions as required.

Skills, qualities, experience, and education:
• Strong mastery of Microsoft Excel, including using macros and pivot tables;
• Experience developing and adapting administrative systems and protocols;
• Experience coordinating with remote offices and teams;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to rigorously ensure accuracy and quality in financial reports;
• Highly organized and passionate about producing high quality work;
• Experience booking international and complex travel itineraries for teams;
• Able to work independently once trained, and with minimal guidance;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Effective prioritizing and carrying out multiple tasks;
• Positive attitude and oriented to problem solving;
• Proactive and shows initiative;
• Flexible and eager to continually learn and develop as part of a team;
• Interest in improving environment and social practices around the world;
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus;
• Mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word, and skills with graphic design a plus;
• Foreign language skills (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, French, etc.) is a plus.
