AMEC has an opening for a mid-level civil, or chemical engineer in the Bothell or downtown Seattle office with 3 to 7 year’s experience. A Bachelor’s degree in civil or chemical engineering, with stormwater modeling experience required; Master's degree preferred. A Washington State EIT registration is required, and PE registration is preferred. This position will support AMEC’s stormwater and surface water management consulting and engineering, and preference will be given for candidates with fundamental knowledge and technical skills in one or more of the following areas: stormwater management /drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, engineering and design development, water resources, watershed analyses, natural resource conservation, water quality modeling, environmental permitting and NPDES compliance, river/stream/wetland/marine nearshore restoration, conveyance and pumping systems, and hydropower engineering. We are looking for a self- motivated candidate who is able to work as part of a project team; think clearly; has strong technical writing skills; prepares technical reports; and applies municipal and state stormwater design and compliance requirements. Projects include clean and contaminated site stormwater controls and drainage design.

Key Responsibilities
Duties are expected to include:
· Working at project sites to provide field engineering and construction oversight for stormwater and water quality treatment systems;
· Developing procedures and oversight for operations and maintenance of water treatment systems;
· Conducting water quality sampling, site inspections, and collecting field data;
· Preparing completion and monitoring reports;
· Working with project teams to develop and analyze design alternatives for stormwater, drainage, and water quality treatment systems;
· Developing stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic models;
· Preparing engineering design documents including cost estimates, plans, specifications, calculations, and reports.
· Typical primary project types include industrial and commercial stormwater management for existing site, new development, and redevelopment, including low impact development and green infrastructure design. Secondary project types include development of hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality models for planning and studies; and municipal, commercial and industrial NPDES compliance.

· A Bachelor’s degree in civil or chemical engineering, with stormwater modeling experience required; Master's degree preferred.
· 5-7 years of related experience.
· Knowledge of, and experience applying drainage codes and stormwater manuals to analyze sites in Western Washington.
· Knowledge of, and experience using continuous hydrologic simulations models and analyzing conveyance systems.
· Previous OSHA training (40-hour OSHA 1910.120) and hazardous waste handling experience is preferred but not required.
· Must be able to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climactic conditions, and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
· Candidates must be willing to travel locally and may need to travel out of area for extended periods of time as necessary.
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
· Experience developing civil plans, specifications, and estimates for stormwater and drainage systems.
· Grading and utility plan experience is a preferred but not required
