Pacific Science Center’s Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center (MSEEC) offers a variety of programs for children ages 2 – 5 to explore the wonders of the natural world through art, puppets, stories and hands-on science. The MSEEC team seeks an Early Childhood Education Coordinator to coordinate and teach our environmentally focused pre-school programs including: Polliwog pre-school and Tadpole Tots and other programs as assigned. The primary duty of the Coordinator is to teach our programs. Additionally, the Coordinator helps foster positive relationships with the families, parents, volunteers and other staff to ensure effective student learner. We also rely on the Coordinator to lead in the design and implementation of pre-school curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have the following: BA/BS in Early childhood Education; Ability to work effectively in a team including parents; Excellent communication skills and attention to detail; Minimum age of 21 with valid driver’s license for insurance purposes; Standard first aid and CPR by date of hire; Ability to pass background check.

Preferred candidates: Experience in early childhood education, experience in environmental Ed; Tutoring or teaching early learners; Environmental or Natural Sciences specialization or interest.

MSEEC is a partnership, collaboration between Pacific Science Center and City of Bellevue, Washington. The Mercer Slough program is located off-site from the main Pacific Science Center facility.
