A Washington state campaign to create a clean energy fund by putting a price on the cost of carbon pollution seeks a Regional Field Director for a 2018 ballot initiative.

Clean Air, Clean Energy is a broad coalition of organizations, unions, businesses, tribes and funders committed building Washington’s economy, improving the health of our residents and leading the fight against climate change. Members include Community to Community, the Washington State Labor Council, Washington Conservation Voters, The Nature Conservancy, One America, Climate Solutions, Puget Sound Sage, Got Green and many more.

The coalition plans to file a 2018 ballot measure to invest hundreds of millions of dollars tackling climate change, and holding corporate polluters accountable with a price on carbon pollution.

The regional field director will be responsible for leading a team of organizers who in turn mobilize local volunteers to gather the 259,622 valid signatures required to qualify for the 2018 ballot. This position will involve campaign hours with frequent evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:

-Train local organizers on the signature gathering systems provided by the campaign
-Use data to track the most productive signature gathering sites in your turf and help organizers prioritize their volunteers
-Manage relationships with partner organizations in your territory, ensure they are effectively trained, gathering signatures and coordinated with the central program
-Drive volunteer recruitment through regular calling, hosting phonebanks and using other recruitment tools like peer to peer texting software
-Ensure organizers are tracking and reporting their data regularly
-Work with field director to develop and implement new strategies and tactics
-Identify large signature gathering opportunities and allocate staff as needed
-Lead daily huddles and weekly team meetings with organizers
-Implement other tactics as directed by campaign leadership

Desired Qualifications

-Experience managing staff in a campaign environment
-At least two cycles of experience working on an electoral or advocacy campaign
-Familiarity with campaign Customer Relations Management (CRM) software, preferably Voter Activation Network and ActionKit
-Strong passion for climate justice, equity and environmental issues

This position is based in Seattle, with extensive travel throughout Washington State.

Salary is $4,250 – $4,750 a month depending on experience. Benefits include healthcare stipend, phone reimbursement, mileage reimbursement and paid sick and safe time. This position lasts through July 6th, with the possibility of extending through 2018 if signature gathering goals are met.
