Position Description
Cascadia is currently seeking an Associate for its Oakland office, with particular expertise in water conservation and facility operations. This position is responsible for managing projects and securing new business in Cascadia’s Resource Conservation Programs practice area and includes serving a range of clients from private sector companies to local governments to industrial facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
 Direct and manage projects focused on best practices and innovations in water technology and commercial water conservation systems. Related tasks include developing project scopes, budgets, timelines, and staffing plans; implementing projects on time and within budget; communicating and coordinating with internal and external team members and clients; and producing high-quality work products and deliverables.
 Conduct water audits and in-field water assessments using a suite of tools.
 Provide technical assistance and conduct site visits to identify opportunities and examine records/data.
 Prepare reports based upon inspections and inspection tools.
 Identify and secure new projects and opportunities aligned with commercial, industrial, and institutional best practices related to water conservation, including participating in proposal writing and presentations to prospective clients.
 Supervise and provide direction to assigned staff, ensure supervisees meet annual performance targets and development goals.
 Contribute to a working environment conducive to team effectiveness, quality, creativity, and positive morale across Cascadia offices.
 Research and stay abreast of industry trends and developments. Participate in relevant professional group meetings and conferences.
 Occasional travel, including field work and meetings or other activities outside standard work hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
 Experience-based knowledge of a range of water conservation strategies and systems. Understanding of established best practices, new developments, and innovations in the field.
 Experience implementing and evaluating water optimization and water reuse strategies.
 Working knowledge of technical cost savings analysis and reporting regarding water use and conservation.
 Familiarity with a wide variety of commercial water consuming processes and equipment, including cooling towers, medical vacuum pumps and sterilizers, single pass HVAC units, commercial laundry systems, reverse osmosis, restaurant equipment, food processing equipment, high-efficiency restroom fixtures, fleet washing, and/or industrial product rinsing.
 Experience using ultrasonic water meters, inline meters, motor loggers, conductivity meters, and other equipment to accurately characterize usage patterns and verify potential and/or realized water savings.
 Proficiency in operations and water facility management, including equipment monitoring and maintenance.
 Must be organized, self‐motivated, able to set work priorities and act independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
 A minimum of 3-5 years professional experience working water conservation and management is required. Five or more years of direct project management experience in the sector is preferred.
 Experience providing technical assistance and/or commissioning services.
 Experience developing and managing to project budgets.
 Experience supervising and providing leadership to junior staff.
 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
 Experience working with diverse communities and reaching multicultural audiences.
 Excellent organizational and documentation skills, and great attention to detail.
 Strong communication skills and ability to interact well with diverse customers, clients, partners.
 Proficiency with Microsoft office, with advanced Word and Excel analysis capabilities.
 A minimum of a two-year technical degree; a four-year college degree is preferred. Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field is also welcomed.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full time position. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
