Empty Bowls 2016
Select a hand crafted bowl created by local students and artisans. Enjoy live music while savoring a meal of soup, salad, bread, and dessert from local restaurants. Purchase a unique gift for Mother’s Day in our silent auction. All while supporting North Helpline and helping make sure your neighbors have food on the table and a roof over their heads!
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: handcrafted bowls are created and donated by artisans and students. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup, salad, and bread. Included in the price of admission, guests select a handcrafted bowl to keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world and in their communities.
North Helpline is proud to have hosted an Empty Bowls with an extensive silent auction and entertainment since 2009. All profits raised from the event support the efforts of our Emergency Services and Food Bank to keep putting food on our neighbors’ tables and a roof over their heads. This year we will gather in the Community Hall at St. Matthew’s Parish (1240 NE 127th Street) from 12 to 3 in the afternoon on Sunday, May 1st.
