Save Antibiotics for Medicine, not Factory Farms Kickoff Meeting

Event Date:
Thursday, September 17, 2015 - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Event Location:
Capitol Hill Branch Public Library
425 Harvard Ave East
Seattle, WA 98102
United States

80% of antibiotics in the US are used in livestock on factory farms, primarily to boost profits and compensate for living filthy conditions. This is not how our antibiotics should be used, and it's making these critical medicines less effective when we really need them. In fact, 2 million Americans get antibiotic resistant infections every year, where life-saving medicines no longer work.

That’s why Food and Water Watch's local chapter is kicking off this fall's effort here in Seattle to demand federal action to ban the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms.

Join us for the kickoff meeting in Seattle! We'll talk about the steps we will take this fall to influence Senator Murray and other decision makers on this critical environmental and public health crisis.
