Nearly 97% of climate scientists agree that human activities are warming Earth’s climate, and the Pentagon considers the consequences to be a threat to national security. What are we doing about it?

As the economic challenges of climate change are gradually appearing, some sectors are opening up to
the role they can play in supporting public health, food security, environmental sustainability, and
energy development. Seattle AWIS and ACS Puget Sound invite you to join a guided panel discussion on
the future of climate research, consulting, and action with our distinguished panelists:

  • Jessica Finn Coven: Washington State Director - Climate Solutions
  • Cynthia LeRoughe, Ph.D.: Associate Professor, Health Services Department – University of Washington, School of Public Health
  • Jeremy T. Mathis, Ph.D.: Director, Ocean Environment Research Division – NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory
  • Christie Baumel, M.S.: Senior Energy Policy Advisor – City of Seattle, Office of Sustainability and Environment

6:00 pm – Networking and Refreshments
6:30 pm – Introductions and Panel Discussion
7:45 pm – Networking and Dessert

The event is free to attend and all are welcome! There is Free Parking in front and side of Thomas Building and in the Employee Parking lot off Aloha St. (across from SCCA).
