The University of Washington (UW) is proud to be one of the nation’s premier educational and research institutions. Our people are the most important asset in our pursuit of achieving excellence in education, research, and community service. Our staff not only enjoys outstanding benefits and professional growth opportunities, but also an environment noted for diversity, community involvement, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty.
The Program on the Environment (PoE), the Environmental Studies department at the University of Washington’s College of the Environment, has an outstanding opportunity for an Academic Counselor to serve as an adviser for prospective and declared majors and minors in Environmental Studies.

PoE offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies, a Minor in Environmental Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management. With an emphasis on bioregional, global, and field-based content, students learn in the field, lab, classroom, community, and around the world. As a focal point of Environmental Studies at UW, PoE is well positioned to bring the campus and community together to educate future environmental leaders.
Primary functions for this role fall into four broad areas: advising, curriculum support, data management, and outreach and recruitment. This is a full-time, 10 month position working annually from the beginning of September through the end of June. The Academic Counselor reports to the PoE Undergraduate Program Coordinator.
