Sustainable Ballard hosts 10 work parties in and around Ballard. Meet up at Ballard Commons Park to check in to a work party, listen to great speakers, and enjoy family fun. Then disperse to the neighborhood for one of our 10 work parties for the afternoon. Return in the early evening to celebrate our work for the day!

On November 6th from 10am to 2pm join hundreds of your neighbors at local parks to lend a hand in forested park restoration. Register now for a Green Seattle Day work party at your local park at www.greenseattle.org.

Without a coordinated effort, Seattle is at risk of losing 70% of its forests in just 20 years. The Green Seattle Partnership is reversing the trend by mobilizing thousands of volunteers to restore 2,500 acres by 2025.

Who: Volunteers from Landau Associates, EOS Alliance, Green Seattle Partnership, Cascade Land Conservancy, and YOU!

What: Global Work Party event - Maple School (Ravine) Natural Area Invasive Species Removal & Native Planting
First we will work at removing invasive plant species and laying mulch for native planting (planting will happen on 11/6/10 during Green Seattle Day), then we will PARTY with refreshments, music, speakers, and more!

New Garden Program in Rainier Beach Neighborhood Seeks Volunteers!

The Rainier Beach Learning Garden, one of Seattle Tilth’s newest gardens, has served over 500 students this year. Young people are learning how to grow organic food, compost and eat fresh food from the garden. The garden is ready to grow in order to better serve the community. We’d love your help!

Work parties are scheduled on weekends starting July 31. If you’d like to participate, we strongly encourage you to attend one of these Volunteer Orientations to find out more about the garden and work parties:
