Take Sustainable Ballard's 9th annual self-guided walking / biking tour of twelve-plus Ballard urban farms and food gardens. The tour features many creative ways to grow food in urban spaces, including the use of parking strips, containers and raised beds; easy to construct chicken coops and bee houses; many varieties of fruit trees, berry bushes and edible ground covers, in addition to your traditional garden bed. Meet gardeners and ask questions; learn from their experience. Your $10 entry fee goes to support Sustainable Ballard's community projects.

Come hear from experts about the future of paper and corrugate recycling, how Starbucks sees the cup recycling landscape nationally, and what the impact and outcome of China’s Green Fence Initiative might mean for the future of fibers and other recyclables. Learn from a panel of recycling commodities experts from local MRFs and gain insights to their challenges with processing and where opportunities exist, and then tour SP Recycling, a regional MRF that is integrated with a paper mill.
