Join the Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) for their last Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED) event of the summer!
Inspired by America Recycles Day, WSRA hosts four to five one-day WRED events per year, bringing professionals from all over Washington State together for discussion of recycling issues and behind the scenes tours of working facilities and technology demonstrations. These events typically involve a full day of activities including expert panel presentations, a catered lunch, facility tours and time for networking.
Join WSRA for our last WRED event of the summer! Come hear from experts about the future of paper and corrugate recycling, how Starbucks sees the cup recycling landscape nationally, and what the impact and outcome of China’s Green Fence Initiative might mean for the future of fibers and other recyclables. Learn from a panel of recycling commodities experts from local MRFs and gain insights to their challenges with processing and where opportunities exist, and then tour SP Recycling, a regional MRF that is integrated with a paper mill. This is part one of a two-part fiber WRED event series.
As our cities expand and population grows, the need for urban green space is greater than ever. Yet a vast expanse is sitting right above our heads, unused and unloved. By replanting our rooftops, we can reduce the urban heat island effect, sequester rainfall to reduce the strain on drainage sys- tems, scrub the air of pollutants and CO2, and provide respite from city noise.
