Seattle Solar U is a free solar educational workshop hosted by Sunergy Systems in Ballard.
Solar stands with other renewables as a more viable and longterm alternative to the use of fossil fuels. There are many ways to combat climate change and solar is one of them! But many questions persist:
* How well does solar work in the Northwest?
* Are solar panels affordable for my family?
* What solar financing options are available?
* What solar incentives and rebates may I be eligible for?

The Pacific Northwest Permaculture Convergence, an annual weekend-long event celebrating creative, sustainable living, will be held October 7-9, 2016, at Fort Flagler State Park on Marrowstone Island, near scenic Port Townsend, Washington. Keynote speakers include fungi researcher and visionary Paul Stamets, the founder of Fungi Perfecti; Pandora Thomas, earth and social justice advocate and founder of the Black Permaculture Network; and long-time permaculture practitioner and educator, Michael Pilarski.
Eclectic, artsy, earthy, urban and committed to a better future...you'll find all this and more at the 13th Annual Sustainable Ballard Festival. When you join this group of Ballard neighbors on Aug 27th at Ballard Commons Park, you'll encounter creativity, passion and community while learning about daily practices and big steps toward more sustainable living. In a time of uncertainty about our nation's leadership, People Power has been chosen as this year's festival theme as a reminder of what is still possible locally and as a model for all communities.
