Second Use will host a free workshop on incorporating salvage into your garden patio Sunday, June 3, from 1-3 p.m. It will provide step-by-step instructions on how to set up the foundation, adding unconventional materials to the patio (granite pieces, bricks, decorative metal items, stones from your yard), and giving the project a finished look. Instructor Dave Lacey has more than 10 years of experience in landscaping, with a background in environmental restoration.

Installing doors can add character and of course function to any home, but installing them can be a tricky task. Pacific Iron's Doorhouse will lead this free workshop at Second Use, giving participants the tools, tips and resources needed to successfully install interior and exterior doors. Instruction will cover shopping for the right doors, installing a door into an existing jamb, and installing a pre-hung door.

This simple, yet fun and educational workshop is ideal for kids age 8-12. Learn how to craft a one-of-a-kind notebook using salvaged vinyl signage material and scrap paper. Notebooks will be stitched together by sewing machine, though previous sewing skills are not necessary as the instructor will give assistance. Books will be personalized and decorated using various scrap materials we will provide.

Class Cost: $10 (materials, tools, and snacks provided)
