North Helpline is proud to have hosted an Empty Bowls with an extensive silent auction and entertainment since 2009. All profits raised from the event support the efforts of our Emergency Services and Food Bank to keep putting food on our neighbors’ tables and a roof over their heads.
Select a hand crafted bowl created by local students and artisans. Enjoy live music while savoring a meal of soup, salad, bread, and dessert from local restaurants. Purchase a unique gift for a friend or loved one in our silent auction. All this while helping keep our neighbors in need housed and fed.
Eclectic, artsy, earthy, urban and committed to a better future...you'll find all this and more at the 13th Annual Sustainable Ballard Festival. When you join this group of Ballard neighbors on Aug 27th at Ballard Commons Park, you'll encounter creativity, passion and community while learning about daily practices and big steps toward more sustainable living. In a time of uncertainty about our nation's leadership, People Power has been chosen as this year's festival theme as a reminder of what is still possible locally and as a model for all communities.
Sustainable Ballard has a lot planned for its annual festival this September 19th. Combining creativity, passion and community, this group of Ballard neighbors always "brings it" to produce an exceptional event full of quirky mischief and old-fashioned fun. Attendees will also learn daily practices and big steps toward more sustainable living. This year's festival is sporting a garden party theme featuring a Taste of Ballard Tea Garden with delicious treats and an "Alice in Wonderland" atmosphere.
Sunergy Systems, Giddy Up Burgers & Greens, and New Roots Organics will be hosting Ballard Earth Day Street party on Friday April 24th, 2015 from 4 - 8pm. All proceeds will be donated to Sustainable Ballard.
ENJOY GOOD FOOD & DRINK - Giddy Up Burgers & Greens (veggie and fish burgers too). Pints provided by Stoup Brewing, a Ballard brewery.
Family-friendly, FREE, and full of surprises, the Sustainable Ballard Festival is celebrating its 11th year! Come sample Ballard craft brews and delicious bites, win prizes, catch live music on the solar-powered main stage, watch cooking demonstrations, test ride a cargo bike, make your own green cleaning product, and meet farm animals! Reuse and Recycling is a dominant theme this year, with trash fashion, car-seat recycling, a kids bike and pet parade (we supply the re-purposed frippery), a local coffee cup campaign and more.
