Seattle Youth Garden Works welcomes the best of Fall at the upcoming SYGW Green Gala Auction on Saturday, October 24, 2009.

This year’s auction theme is Urban Harvest, celebrating our Youth Gardeners bountiful Farmer’s crop and the success of our market based gardening program. The harbor side setting for this event is Seattle’s South Lake Union Naval Reserve.

Park(ing) Day Central Park

As an addition to traditional Park(ing) Day parks, where participants create temporary parks in parking spaces, we will be transforming this once vibrant block, illegal parking lot, and now vacant space into a collection of small parks for the day. The event was approved by the owners of the space and we also received a smART ventures grant from the Seattle Arts Commission to help make the event a reality.
