At this introduction, we will share what we do to protect and preserve Puget Sound and explain what you can do to join us. We will train you to identify and document illegal pollution, explain how to join an on-the-water patrol or organize a shoreline cleanup, empower you to become a policy advocate, and show you how to get involved in a multitude of other ways. Snacks provided!

Curious about the critters in your local watershed? Join us as we walk the length of the Longfellow Creek to investigate the health of our local salmon runs. Volunteers will assess the effects of urban runoff on wildlife by conducting a short pre-spawn mortality survey of Coho and Chum salmon.

Equipment: Be prepared to get a little dirty. We will be walking along the creek and cutting open deceased salmon to check if they have spawned. Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet or stinky.

Time: 10 am to 12:00 pm.

Your forest needs you! Join the Green Seattle Partnership on Saturday, November 8th, as we kick off planting season and celebrate Seattle’s urban forest and all it does for us with a day of volunteerism in 21 parks throughout the City. The 9th Annual Green Seattle Day is a perfect time to roll up your sleeves and have a lasting impact on your community. Our biggest event of the year, Green Seattle Day is a great chance for first-time and long-time volunteers to help grow the forest in their own city by planting trees and other plants in city parks.
